    Today on 'Meet the Press', house minority leader Jim Boehner stated that their party will will repeal the 14th Amendment if they take over congress.

    This law was originally passed to guarantee the rights of freed slaves full citizenship. Now, under the guise of stopping illegals, they wish to repeal it. This type of thing happen during the womens ''Sufferage" movement. Laws were passed to deny females the vote. Which amazingly led to 'Jim Crow' voting laws in the south.

    Is this as it seems. Or are we staring another version of 'Reconstruction' in the face?

    Kyl: Illegal Aliens' Kids Shouldn't Be Citizens
    Wants Hearing on 14th Amendment Which Grants Citizenship to Children of Illegal Immigrants Born in America

    Sen. John Kyl, R-Ariz., said today that Congress should hold hearings to look into denying citizenship to illegal aliens' children born in the United States, as the fight over immigration widens into the explosive "birthright" issue.

    Last week Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said he was considering introducing a Constitutional amendment to repeal a provision of the 14th Amendment, which guarantees citizenship to anyone born within U.S. borders. Graham suggested that children born in the United States whose parents are here illegally should not automatically become U.S. citizens.

    The 14th Amendment was enacted in 1868 to ensure that states would not deny citizenship to former slaves. It reads, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

    Arizona's Republican State Sen. Russell Pearce - the architect of the controversial immigration law that was largely struck down by U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton - also separately proposed the same measure.

    "The 14th Amendment [has been] interpreted to provide that if you are born in the United States, you are a citizen no matter what," Kyl said. "So the question is, if both parents are here illegally, should there be a reward for their illegal behavior?"

    illegal immigration hurts black people the most because it drives down wages.

    Most illegals aren't working in the strawberry fields, like the news wants you to think. They're working in good paying construction and factory positions that should go to LEGAL citizens.

    Lets not get into the fear mongering and look at this in a logical way. Why should a baby born to two people in this country illegally gain citizenship? The US is the ONLY country where this is possible. Why shouldn't the law be changed so that one parent has to be legal?

    I think we are headed into another faze , with the 14th admendment being revised or changed .

    beware what may loom if they grant this revised admendment.

    I do agree with your concept as well maybe repealing it and reconstructing it might
    help or keep illegal folkz from gaining in the U.S

    these are facts and Washington lobby collectors are skillful at killing 2 birds with one stone, other wise it would be obvious to Black folks.

    Look at how that action in Arizona, liquidated Black studies from the public high schools.

    I do agree with the above but the USA needs to be very careful as to how they do this. Or they will be vilified like the DR is with the Haitians.

    Right now in the DR a foreigner is classed as in transit, this is not only Haitians, but everyone. In transit means that they are not a legal resident or a Citizen.

    They are not granted Dominican Citizenship, no matter how many generations back. This is complicated by Haitian law that if you have not record of birth, or were not born in Haiti, or you have not record of the parents status,then you are also not able to obtain Haitian citizenship, therefore you are a stateless person.
