    behind this smile
    is a woman
    struggling with her flesh

    banging her morals
    against the framework
    of what her subconscious
    knows best

    reaching for rainbows
    as inbetween finger
    the colors seem to
    fade

    still hoping and praying
    trying and remaking
    raging quietly for
    better dayz

    behind this smile
    is the scar of
    a heart torn by a
    man

    who has with his
    many deceits
    brought her eruptive
    birth pangs

    fingertips bleeding
    just merely from weeding
    thru roses and pierced
    by thorns

    singing lullaby's softly
    dulls out the clanging
    of heartbeats that
    up and die

    behind this smile
    is a a rose bud
    smothered by leaves
    way too small

    behind this smile
    lies years of tears
    that somehow
    don't wear away walls.......

You cant prune roses with getting scratched by the thorns. Cut the branches low, to make that rose grow. Add some nutrients called TLC and watch that rose bloom back to be. Beautiful.

No one said it was gonna be easy. But fill your time with better days. People and thoughts. He is history. Keep smiling and getting better. It is your reward and his lost.

I love the "raw emotion meets logic" of this poem. Pain contributes to spellbounding creativity

As the other poets have said, this was so emotively laid, you brought us into those painful feelings. I know it feels like it's forever, but thank goodness, it's not.
