The other day, I called myself being careful how much I ate. For breakfast I had bran flakes, milk and a banana. For lunch I had left over's shepard's pie and an orange an hour and a half before working out. I did fine during my cardio (bike riding, some treadmill) but when I started my strength training, I started to feel weak and tired, and I darn near passed out and I was told that I didn't eat enough, when I could have sworn that I did. I drink plenty of water, so I know that's not the issue. So my question is, since I plan to do some strength training later this afternoon, so I plan to move my lunch to about 2 or 3 instead of an hour ago (12 pm) like I did Tuesday to see if that makes a difference. To successfully do well in my strength training exercise without feeling like I will pass out, should my lunch or pre-workout snack/meal be more carbs or more protein. Thanks for reading.

if you workout out in the morning
get your carbs in the am with your breakfats

if you workout in the afternoon
    get carbs with your lunch

always protein only after 30-45 minutes after strength training

then 30-1hr later get another protein and carbs meal.

    hope that help
