Black Spirituality Religion : Powers and blesings for selfish reasons? or the Common Good of the Race????

I will tell you what I've grown to understand about religion. IDEALLY it should be people's unique way of celebrating UNIVERSAL truth. Instead, it has become, by and large, tools of controlling and oppressing people's minds and spirits. Despite, I think there is still truth mixed in with most all traditions....it's a matter of assembling the pieces of the puzzle that FIT. If people...Black people...would make some effort to move out of fear mode where the God issue is concerned (even just a little effort), then they/we will see that the proof of any truth is always in the pudding.
I hear what you say, but how can so many seem to be hypocritical?

1 Yoruba stresses self control, and respect for elders and the community
2 Chritianity stresses service , healing, community welfare, non conditional love, and non judgementalism
3 Islam stresses the 5 pillars, one Zakat stresses charity and community service

and notice I mentioned the occult as well and we all know how Boukman used that in regards to the valiant and forthright righteous revolution

so since there is so much, that is within the tenents of the 3 major religions in the Black community, why are they not expressed in any tangible and visible way, except for the usual soup kitchen?
And since roots work and the occult have haad defensive implications, what has happened to the altruism in that regard as well?

It may not be completely about hypocrisy. There is missing information that we need to fully process and navigate the matrix such that we don't continue destroying ourselves. Even among traditional systems, there is information that has been hidden; Boukman (the Haitian Revolution?) may have used solid information for those accomplishments, but do we know what happened subsequent to his time---what choices were made that shouldn't have been that ultimately compromised the welfare of the Haitian people? Part of what is needed is to go back and CAREFULLY track history---the players and the strategies....absolutely nothing can be taken for granted or dismissed. If something is in the realm of what we CAN do, then the issue is simple; it's when you've tried all and still can't see why progress hasn't been made that a need to look at religious/spiritual practices needs to come more into play.

wel realy that is the point is that these principles are not and have not been applied since the 80s.

During the 60s there were several Christian ministers doing and saying what Dr Kinmg, was in terms of international injustice and Black solidarity against white supremacy,
now we have hundreds of TD Jakes and Creflo Dollars that tell folks Christianity is their Alladins lamp.

During the 70s the Black orthodox community took a prominent role in community defense, organization and economic awareness, but now there are many who relate to Arabs, stain their beards ornge, and say they are Muslim first and Black second, haveing no concern for the greater community

And there are folks nowadays who seek to use the occult to seduce a sister pass her will, hit the number or legaly wipe out a heavy debt payment

when you've tried all and still can't see why progress hasn't been made that a need to look at religious/spiritual practices needs to come more into play.

I understand what you say however,
these things and principles have never been used on a massive scale, and only tried by an isolated and marginalized few.

Before Dr King's assasination he was ostracized by many in the clergy, for practising the tenets of the faith

Before El hajj Malik Shabbazz was executed he was ostracized by the few Black Imams for trying to fullfil Zakat

Ankhur, think about going WAY back in time....the times during which we were empowered, had our own civilizations, and so forth. You might think back to times prior to civilization and reflect upon what our lives might have been like. Now, start to think about what made the shift to our downfall occur? In your opinion, what caused our downfall...meaning what made us vulnerable? I don't mean the white man, asian man, arab man, the sell out black man etc., because even their persistent and devilish intrusion into our world wouldn't explain why the masses of us were unable to defend ourselves. That's about where you need to start---not the 80s, the 60s, the 20s, or even slavery. It's necessary in order to understand the nature of the beast...what conditions birthed it and what sustains it? Unless you know that, it would be impossible to 'kill' it. At least a part of what sustains it is religion because, like I shared before, unless a religion is about celebrating Universal Law and Truth, then it imprisons the mind and keeps it believing that it must accept conditions as they are or risk going to 'hell'. THIS is what enslaves Black people---fear. This is generally true regardless of the tradition we choose at present. People can't share what they don't have, and if they have it, the proof of it would be evidenced in its effectiveness; if they have it, and don't share it, then again, we are back at categorizing them as enemies, 'cause who, but a genuine devil, would sit on that kind of crucial information while we continue to collectively be destroyed? Hopefully that makes sense.

Oh dear heart, that is about as wasy as asking how many days in a week!!!!

Our downfall when we had REAL technology 10 to 30 thousand years ago was xenophobia amongst each other, and clannishness regarding territory and turf, and materialism
