I hear what you say, but how can so many seem to be hypocritical?I will tell you what I've grown to understand about religion. IDEALLY it should be people's unique way of celebrating UNIVERSAL truth. Instead, it has become, by and large, tools of controlling and oppressing people's minds and spirits. Despite, I think there is still truth mixed in with most all traditions....it's a matter of assembling the pieces of the puzzle that FIT. If people...Black people...would make some effort to move out of fear mode where the God issue is concerned (even just a little effort), then they/we will see that the proof of any truth is always in the pudding.
1 Yoruba stresses self control, and respect for elders and the community
2 Chritianity stresses service , healing, community welfare, non conditional love, and non judgementalism
3 Islam stresses the 5 pillars, one Zakat stresses charity and community service
and notice I mentioned the occult as well and we all know how Boukman used that in regards to the valiant and forthright righteous revolution
so since there is so much, that is within the tenents of the 3 major religions in the Black community, why are they not expressed in any tangible and visible way, except for the usual soup kitchen?
And since roots work and the occult have haad defensive implications, what has happened to the altruism in that regard as well?
