I am actively working on solutions to the high dropout rate among black boys around the country.
I have created an acrostic memory system that I believe can finally put the issue to rest.
The idea is to utilize a spaced repetition system to create memory connections in long-term memory for the critical subjects math and grammar.
The memory connections are created and matured in memory before the child learns the material.
If you would like me to better explain we can talk in the chat room.
    My Contacts: yahoo/aol messenger liche321
The system is free to use. I am new here so I would have to send you the links.

My focus is primary on math and English grammar. I learned from years of experimenting with memory that language learning programs that do not incorporate a spaced repetition algorithm are not very effective. I will send the links to your email.

I believe that we have to fix this problem ourselves. Before we can fix it we have to understand why the problem is not being addressed. There are two wars called the "math wars" and the "reading wars" going on in the school system. There is a pedagogical battle between traditional education and constructivist methods that is being waged in the background of our education system. The casualties of these battles are the children. The average parent is not really aware of this so I will post some links.

This war is preventing common sense solutions from taking off. There is an effort on the constructivist side to demonize any form of memorization as "rote" or "drill and kill" in order to push their own agenda and curriculum.

young boys have way to much energy to be forced to sit at a desk, perhaps a totally different style of teaching , more interactive learning for young boys. school as it exists now is made for girls, sitting still and "being good" . also stopping the harrassment, hatred, and humiliation of young black boys by educators and their system would be a good start.

The public education system is not designed for the academic achievement of Black youth.
