My mind ponders the days that has yet to come
Thoughts bring me to the time that you laid with me,
Listening to jazz records, while enjoying a bowl of ice cream out on the hammock.
The lips that I know so well meet the dip of my neck
That is cupped by my shoulder and collarbone
Amazed at how they fit like a pair.
I watch your back in the distant as you take our bowls to the kitchen
And think to myself “how did we get so lucky?”
You return with the throw from the couch and…
My thoughts come to an end until the next time
My mind decides to ponder.
