    Hi guttapoetfromny
sometime you have to exercise your mind.
This is one of my favorite poetic exercise when I have a block
and feel the need to write.

    Rhyme Poetry
    A Rhyme
which all the lines have the same end rhyme

    A break from my career,
    to visit a new frontier.
    Where life is not severe,
    and stress will disappear.
    I'll become a pioneer,
    a new found volunteer.
    To help this old sphere,
    make it's air all clear.
    We will persevere,
    for I'm the brigadier.
So as I erase my fear,
    lets offer up a cheer.
    Lets make this our year
    where everyone will be sincere.

    Peace & Love

Think of a tranquil moment, and erase all negative thoughts from your mind. Think you will have a classic piece and it may or may not rhyme, but it will be worth everyones time.

You are a poet, and all you have to do is slow down and let the world know it.

Just think about it young sage. The poem you won't let drop could light up this page and be all the rage. Write that right and stop acting like you're afraid.:zipit: :blowkiss:

seek your space of quiet time that moment and open
ya thoughts let yourself envision and scribe what u see / feel and hear
let the touch of creating hit in a rhyming flow as the feel of it comes
so do the lyrics and the Block is released .

we all have these moments of dry ink through da face of a writers block !

just sit in a dark place close your eyes
    and invision your face
on the top of a pyramid
    until there it is
    breathe slowly
    don't even think of poetry
    until you feel the breeze
that was sent to set your mind at ease
    every so often
we all experience some kind of freeze
but all you have too do
is heat the mind up to 99 degrees
    let your positive thoughts
    chess box with each other
    until the negativity is gone
and you've made a Queen out of a pawn
then like the God Cipher Divine your poetry flows on!~

    stay strong............

    Been there done that

I've been writing poetry for about twenty years. I got real busy about five years ago and wrote and had published two books in a span of about three years. I wrote about many things, in many formats. When I got to the end of my second book, I was just about out of ideas to write about, and had to go back into my archives to dig up a few oldies but goodies to complete the second book. I probably haven't written ten good poems since then. I'm out of ideas, motivation and enthusiasim. I've probably said just about all have to say in the poetic format. It's either burnout, writer's block or you are out of ideas to write about. Don't rush it, because the quality of your writing will suffer. Don't be surprised if you have already done your best work, because you just may have.

I must say, all the above poets have given such great advice. I think all of us have been through a period where the ink just seems to be flowing out of your pen, and then..nothing.
I'm not sure how long you've been writing, but at some point, I think most writers just don't write as much as they previously have, or, it comes in spurts. My advice is to just write, about anything at all, no matter how absurd. Once when I had a block, I wrote about an extremely painful subject in a humorous manner. You may find that what is deep inside you will somehow appear on the page. Perhaps the words won't flow in the way you initially planned, but eventually you will poetically release your thoughts. Peace, poet.
