    "Time's Never Enough"

Like the sand in the hourglass
    Every grain has a plan
not always meant for us to understand
God layed a path set before
And time just never seems to be enough
So every moment together is a gift
And when the days get short
I'm thankful for what light your soul lit
but it's in who we trust that ultimate faith
    as love endures
I'm feeling selfish when a star dims from the sky
    even for one single night
no one else would recognize the hurt in my eyes
for strength depend on me as I depended on life
God why is time never enough
all the things I could've said
all the things I'd have given for just one more touch
My bible is my only comfort
because people can't possible know truly
the size of the hole in my life now
when no one's around sometimes I'm broken
gasping to breathe I fell on my knees out in the open
for no one to hear my cries
or catch the tears falling out my eyes
it's hard to maintain this hole inside
but in each stride I must
I must go on at least until the song is over
    and everyone goes back home
    a time when I think I'm alone
then I can truly deal with why I wanted time to stand still
and maybe then I can dream a little when we were still
and talking til the end of the conversation
imagining what you would've said if that last chance had been given
then I would be able to sleep at night and not wonder
why things happen the way they did
maybe the tears I'd cry would be shorter
the day when I can finally deal
    with God's decision
to take you out of my life.

    But until then...

    ...Poet
    this was the most
    emotionally stirring
    piece...I've read today
this took me to a place
    within me...where pain
    resided but I had forgotten
how bad it hurt and why
I had tucked it away there
    ....so I could move on
    and accept the thing
    that I could not change

...I felt your pain in this piece
Each word cried tears of questions
    and dismay...

It was a soul stirring read...
    but it was felt beneath
the words, pen and the paper...

    Much love to you poet...
    Touched,
    Sage

Goodness knows I've been here, and I feel you. I loved the way you used the image of the hourglass, and the sands of time. The ache in this is well felt poet. This piece was extrememly well written.
