    we took it on
    our selves
    to wear
    nighttime and
    all of its stiffness-
    we inhabit the dancin' music
    of crickets and
    when mornin' yawns; pregnant
    with newness and
    throwin' up light
    we trade our
    wings for sun-lit skin;
wipin the stars and dusk out
    our eyes we
dip our naked forms in new days
    and the tip of our
    tongue will taste promise
    in the
    air.

Your word choice has a radar, poet. Keep doing what you do.

Beautifully written, would love to hear it spoken. I could just feel the emotion in it.

Still loving your word choice, I mean your expression leaves the reader, full. Where are you, poet of the week?

    WOW! This piece is EXQUISITE!

    This MOVED me!

Actually, it reminded me, in tone and voice, of the Langston Hughes poem, "I've Known Rivers."

Now, that's meant as no insult to YOUR writing in this.

You OWNED it in this poem in every way! :toast:
