I struggled for safe ways to remove them from the red satin sheets
Come away from there where you are laughing and a theatrical production
As the sheets move in waves of ironic rough and tumble
Outward looks of a very happy moment

I stood there sending mental waves to them of impending danger
Never wanting them to see the fear in my mind
How that bed was not the playground they felt it to be
Shall I say there is a fox in those sheets
He merely resembles someone who is safer than another

    There is food downstairs
If you are hungry and want nourishment this morning
We could go to that far away park that I have never taken you
Clean the house and escape the nightmares ever which way
Come my sisters I beg you to hear me
There must be something I can distract you with

He is more cunning than we are
His words fall into the crevices of our naivety
He knows just what to say so that we mind with blind obedience
He knows the words that make us compromise in illuminated spaces
My stares command him in unspoken words of my chaos
Daddy do not make me beg for them
You cannot comprehend the times of what a mess our lives
Between the piano playing and Motown music on Sony system
Where I found ways to constantly entreat for the virginity of my sisters
I am not conscious that defilement can occur when he does not enter
I lie well to myself for I keep forgetting that I hate it when he touches me
That the words he speaks leaves me tense with a sense of foreboding
His eyes hurt my skin when he looks at me
His touch reverberates self-hate in every space of my being
I do not know how to save them anymore and am losing the fight now to save me

    Hey Patrice,
It's wonderful to have you back home...good to see you
If you feel like you're loosing the fight, remember this...
"When you come to the end of your rope...tie a knot in it, and hold on"
We must learn the art of kicking, as sometimes, our hands will be tied.

welcome back Patrice, good seeing u here
