I know about this better than I care to talk about. It's a sickness of the mind that starts so early it's hard to detect until the pattern is in full effect. Bad decision after bad decision. Deep seated low self esteem. A well meaning friend or family member can't stop the cycle by good counsel. Unfortunately, something very bad has to happen first. I know firsthand about this heah.

Thank you for this. And I pray every day to stay out of this kind of cycle. It's a real pet peeve of mine, and hating it keeps me focused.

    My brothers and sisters! Thanks

This was hard to do...been missing out, but when I saw a continuing theme with the Pet Peeves I had to go there.
It's a serious matter...And everything that has been said in response has been so supportive and rewarding to hear.
    BLESSINGS ON YA HOUSES!

    MsB,
    This is a deep piece.
Strange thing...I had a conversation with
a friend on this subject the very day you
    dropped this.
    It's a situation I don't understand.

    Scribeaboutit! It helps.

I guess that's why I raised the question.

I lost a dear friend to domestic violence as well as my brother, and I now have a God daughter in the same situation. So it's rather close to home, and not only is it a pet peeve it is a personal mission of mine to bring this despicable act to the fore front, it is one of those things like understanding the serial killer, you almost have to be one in order to understand. And the average person is just not that deranged and deviate to relate. So I speak for the victims as best I can. Thanks for reading COCO!
You know I try and give a little bit more when I am scribing.
    BLESSINGS ON YA HOUSE!

I have given this matter a lot of thought – especially after my best friends little sister was “accidentally” beat to death by her baby daddy. Personally I believe that a repeat offender should be given the choice of life in prison for attempted murder or life in a wheel chair, where the only threat is the threat of him spitting on the floor.

    Shaz.........NOW THAT'S A THOUGHT!

Now that's one punishment that fits the crime. But, does it really.
He took a life? But, perhaps living with the knowledge that it was someone that you claimed to love at least lived with in close proximity, surely the guilt if you have a concious will eat you alive. I don't know maybe all crimes should be tailored specifically for the Criminals to suffer as well as learn something! If they are dead they are out of it, if they are in jail we feeding their dead
    beat *****?????????????
    Blessings on Ya House!
