People Are So Pissed About Quaker Oats That The Company Is Getting Sued

The New York Times reports that testing found low levels of a chemical called glyphosate, found in the popular pesticide Roundup, in the oats. To be clear, this level is very low and completely safe to eat, according to federal regulators. But the lawsuit says that Quaker Oats is duping consumers, because the pesticide is not "natural" ...

When you see "100% natural" on a label, what does that really mean?

The Weed Killer Glyphosate Is Being Found Everywherebut Will It Hurt Us?

From beer to wine to breakfast food, the pesticide glyphosate is showing up in a lot of places that consumers don’t expect to find it. The chemical, a key ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup weed killer, was declared a “probable carcinogen” by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer last year. Since then, a number of food and environmental activist groups have started testing for it in an array of products and finding it—albeit in small amounts—almost everywhere. Now a group of consumers are suing Quaker Oats, which is owned by PepsiCo, over the glyphosate that testing paid for by the plaintiffs found in the company’s Quick 1-Minute oats product ...

Our food sources are becoming more and more unreliable each day through reports such as this. Its time to grow your own food and accept a reduction of choices.

    Anybody still eating oatmeal?

I don't know what to eat for breakfast. Fresh fruit on the menu for now. Grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon.

Raisin brand is good, but processed.

I just read that Quaker Oats has been linked to a number of cancers, including breast, thyroid, kidney, pancreas, liver, bladder and myeloid leukemia. :(:(:(

    Oatmeal, oatmeal, I miss oatmeal.
