We liken ourselves to the lonely rose
    Peaceful in such involuntary solitude
Dwelling amidst the bed of thorns
We are both protected and prisoner
And we dance to our rhythm
    We dance in the grey
    And behind our walls
    We grow

In this cage we grow, but not to the extent that we could, if only. This was on point poet, may we all get to extend beyond those boundaries.
