I find shame in the shadows of love
can’t meet its glare
or bare to expose myself without shelter
it is an emotion too foreign...too unfamiliar
to claim as my own
I know not love

there is no refuge in love
no looking back
no safety net to break the fall
I reach out to feel
But the face in the mirror taunts me
tells me I cannot be loved
so I run from the shadows

I am uncomfortable in the presence of love
Cannot bare to be teased
By its elusive allure
Convincing even myself
that love has no place here
I will not be loved

if I could just touch you
if you would only touch me
kiss my soul, heal my spirit
lift my eyes to meet your glare
force my hand
pushing me over the edge to living
to loving me
I will then shout to the world that
I KNOW LOVE

if I could just touch you
if you would only touch me
kiss my soul, heal my spirit
lift my eyes to meet your glare
force my hand
pushing me over the edge to living
to loving me
I will then shout to the world that
I KNOW LOVE

these lines speak to me...
there are times when someone comes into your life
to do all that you have said in these few lines...

but all is for naught, if we don't recognize the love inside
for our selves....

it takes a lot of faith to love someone unconditionally.
in time it is that same love...that heals.

heartfelt sentiments...

ps...I'm with $Rich$, it's good to see you back
and read your wordz.
