    Story from 2 years ago
    http://www.wltx.com/story/local/2012/12/10/1652996/

    Citation for singing and clapping:

Since October, neighbors in some newly developed homes on Laurel Street have been complaining about the noise coming from Rehoboth United Assemblies and today their 11 A.M. service was interrupted when a Columbia Police officer came in to deliver a citation for "creating a public nuisance."

"Shut them down until they can stop disturbing the neighborhood"

Predominantly "white" neighborhood with a "black church" probably.
We should know "white churches" don't get loud like that unless... oh nevermind.

Guess Who's Not Coming To Church
Sounds like a job for Al Sharlepton

i went to this white church once when i was on vacation - everyone was singin like they were tryin to not wake each other up - just what the point of whisperin hymns to music is i sure dont know - specially since they had bells in the tower loud enough to waken the dead for 20 counties

AmoS 5:21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.
AmoS 5:23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols.
AmoS 5:24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.

Sorry, but I agree with it.

Using the weed eater analogy is weak. Who does their laws at night? And yall know as well as I do, if service starts at 7:30pm, it can go well into the night. The few times I've been in church, I seen where they was loud on purpose, in the hope that it would bring folks in off the street. And the point that is being over looked is people are only complaining when it's loud at night, when kids have to hit the bed for school, adults have to hit the bed for work in the morning, folks coming home from a hard days work and wants some peace and quiet.

These folks that are in the church don't have that to worry about, when they go home,. they don't have to listen to the things they are subjecting other folks to. This is the number one reason I have contempt for religion, some folks think it takes precedence over everybody's rights.

    Peace!

They got them (citations) for 11 am service noise as well...

The after dark noise was a bit overkill on the church's part though

The church was there first. When the neighbors moved in they saw the church they saw the times, the choice was theirs.

Yes, there is a noise ordnance even for the daytime, and using "praising god" can't be a justification for everything.

    Peace!
