    i’m destitute
    irresolute
    barely makin’ it through
I was so rich when I had you
it never occured to me i’d fall under the groove
ever since the day you crushed my heart
i’ve been holdin’ on by a string of thread
sittin’ in the darkness thinking of how great thou art
with my nerves as slippery as the sand
i’d never thought i’d be livin’ underground
completely cut off from all life forms
but ever since the night of your depart
    i’ve kept myself voluntarily conformed
I don’t care if I did have all the riches, fame, and glories in this world
cuz they could never surpass the love we shared and beauty of our love unfurled
all I see in my life is a dead end road from the painful demise of your love
this feeling I have is far past sad it’s the epitome of all poverty in loosing love
    it’s a dreadful poverty
that causes me to loose every friend that came before my life’s end
    a helpless poverty
that makes my family cut me off when i’m in dire and desperate need to depend
    a crazy poverty
that constantly clings to my brain to make sure I never let you go
I feel even more disgruntled, even more destitute that the lowest forms of the low
cuz each day I wake up baby and I desperately remember and yearn for your touch
and I can see that this unwanted poverty has got me grievin’ over you way too **** much
    but hey
that’s just the painful poverty of love that i’ve experienced as you can tell
love never seems to come my way and in some ways I want to rebell
****, I could keep goin’ on and on about all this earthly hell
but ummm...i wouldn’t want ya’ll to be here all day from my little show and tell
    but on a serious note
    just think about it though
the endless pain from the poverty of of love
it can make you or break you
    shape you or emancipate you
but as for me the poverty of love has done all of the above...
