According to one Scythian tradition they descended from a cave-dwelling "viper woman" a horrid creature with the head and torso of a woman from the waist up and the venom laden body of a snake from teh buttocks down." The story goes on to tell how she once tricked an Egyptian named Heracles into cohabiting with her and from this nefarious union was born three male freaks one of which became, so the story goes, the founder of the Scythian nation..."
