small bright galley kitchen
not made for two
but last night
so right
it was me and you
never thought i would allow
someone to enter my domain
a sacred space i alone occupied
but since you walked into my life
i slowed down to experience this ride
i love this life we are living
the constant give and take
the wondering what will happen
as a life together we make
this child in my belly
has taken over both our minds
while we have given to eachother
everything possible that the other can hold
my words spew slower and my rhymes
don't flow as hard as before
but, why make up painful lyrics
when love is constantly
knocking upon my front door
my life will never be the same
and at times i miss the old rush
but thats when i slow down and realize
this is everything that makes me flush
i can't imagine what it would be like
without your presence near
without being able to call upon you
to calm my every fear
your soothing words and gestures
calm my spirit and soul
when my mind plays tricks on me
and i begin to remember ways of old
and while we have our share of issues
things are going to be just fine
we were meant to be here, like this
together, forever in our tiny kitchen
where only the three of us exist.
