    I sense snapping jaws
    of weighted darkness
    trying, relentlessly, to
    devour the essence
    of my fatigued soul.

    Its wretched arms
    squeeze, tightly, around
    my weakened body,
    longing to gasp
    my last breath from me.

I twist and try to run,
    but fall deeper into
    its greedy pits and sink
    into the belly of its
    entrapment.

    Its hands are cold,
    thieving. Desiring to
    possess the whole of
    who I am. Craving
    all I've ever been.

    It scratches and claws,
    trying to pull me down
    to where it can steal
    my precious life.

    I'm almost smothering.
    I can't recall how
    to turn the key
which will set my soul free.

    I struggle within
    and find that little
    part of me which
    loosens this vise.

    I push myself against its
    will and break through
    the darkness before me
    and embrace the glorious light
waiting for me on the other side.

    What is life without Words?

    can't give it all,
    but what i do tell.
    will hopefully brake the chains,
    in which you dwell.
    souls are bound,
    hearts are broken.
    bodies are being used daily,
    like metro bus tokens.
    a piece of reality,
    is bitter and scorned.
    a new life,
    can only be born.
    by a person,
that has a message of truth.
    screamed by elderly,
    and supported by youth.
    can't tell it all,
    but this i must do.
    no new nation can begin,
without words from you....................(soul touchin' keep it comin'):toast:

sister, welcome first of all, i'm mkhaya lo!

your poem is very visual and painfully disturbing...find your peace in the playground of your mind....don't be afraid of he who can only harm your body....u still have your mind...don't let the mind spear of painful words pierce you and harm u...

    lo' feeling this big time...

    Hi mkhaya lo:, :)

Much thanks to you for the welcome and for the kind words. I tend to write about darker themes, but I am basically a happy person. Much peace to you.

    i'm sinking low
    ...so low

but i's got a long ways ta go
    (a long way to go)

    deep in the forest of
    fantasy and make believe
    the trees are thick
    and my will is
    weak

    i be sinking low

    to the end
    to the end
    to the end...came the winds
    of yesterday's sorrows
    that tomorrow might know
    joy and happiness
    and, yet
    i must confess

    i like this darkness.:)

    WELCOME...to the playground
