Between the stories of cross population and texts that have similar story lines, the story of "Osiris" and his brother "Seth" (using the lay names for sake of recognition) and the similarities shared with the story of "Jacob" and his brother "Esau", reveal a common theme that was either repeated or copied.

    • Seth was jealous of Osiris ("Horus the Elder") when he inherited Egypt as Pharaoh
    • Esau was enraged at Jacob for taking his inheritance from Isaac.
    • Osiris tricked into bedding a woman
    • Jacob tricked into bedding a woman
    • Seth - Red Hair; associated with "red", and dry, desolate lands
    • Esau - Red Hair; associated with "red", and dry, desolate lands

The Esavites, (the Scythians), descended from Esau, son of Isaac. They are black, wild, and strange looking. From them descend the Boramichk’ and Lekzik’, who dwell in holes and traps and perpetrate many crimes. And it is said that the Edomites who are the Franks also are descended from him. These three peoples, descendants of Hagar, Ketura, and Esau, mingled together and gave birth to another people, strange looking and wicked, called Tatar [Mongols], which means sharp and light.

    • Osiris dismembered into 14 pieces, and scattered
    • Jacob ("Israel") had 13 children, 12 set up as "landlords" later. Israel would later be "scattered" (Ezekiel).

Then of course the connection of "Jacob" - "Jesus" and "Osiris" - "Horus" (Son of Isis)

There are so many story lines that share elements, one has to wonder what the theme is that is being discussed or represented.

Seth and Esau, Osiris and Jacob... what was going on at this time where these characters and/or personifications were noted in writings and/or tablets?
