I came into this place one day
Because I choose
to live my way
Partying and drinking
And stealing all night
I was playing the game
I was living the life
Until one day they said to me
Strip those clothes off
And give them to me
I said strip down
What do you mean
These are my threads
Nobody takes
them away from me
Then the Officer said to me
Son you now belong to me
You are no longer welcomed on
The outside you are no longer free
So while I am standing
In my birthday suit
The Officer said to me son
The only choice you have is
Orange or brown now
Put one on because this is
What you'll wear now
Then he said come follow me
As they put the cuffs and
Shackles back on me
We started the long walk
Through the infirmery
As we are walking nothing
But cells all around me
That is when I realized that
I am truly no longer free
As we got to the cell
The Officer said to me
This is your new home
So get comfee and
Your new name is 109983
Just in a blink of an eye everything
Was taken away from me
My pride, My Freedom and Dignity
So Young People if you don't
Want to share these
Orange or Brown threads with me
Stay off the streets and use
Your head and think
Do the right thing!

Yours Truly,
BROWNS

CHECK OUT **I MADE THE CHOICE**

If only we could know the future and understand the differences that one decision or course of action may have on the rest of our lives, oh the misery we could avoid. But I guess that is what choice is all about but knowing that God has a plan for our lives and his way is not our way, who is to say that where you are now and what you are doing today is not Gods plan. And who knows what your future really holds, make no assumptions, accept the unacceptable, but expect the impossible when trusting in God.
I will print your poetic admonitions and share them with those whom I think they may also inspire.

indeed ya right
that's why i put up a fight
to teach and tell da story right
coz if u do wrong ya on yo on
and u now belong to a freeless throne
ya be stolen from ya home
in da night like that ya gone
from a name to a number
how can u live
how can u be humble
all u can do is fuss / cuss & rumble
ya life starts to crumble
so many get caught up in dis mess
if only we could see how sweet
it is to be free........tell the truth !!!
