    and I would hold you
    steadfastly in my arms
    safe from harm
    away from pain
you and me could watch the rain
    fall steadfastly
and soon as it would pass the
    level of our mental
    we could watch it flash
in the light of our awareness
    and there bless
    each glimmer and glow
with each drop see and know
how it falls for the soul
    each in prismatic fashion
in my passion hold your pain
    but only long enough
to let it wash in the rain
    words not needed to explain
    how love is heavenly
    before it ever falls
    and we could call
    each raindrop by name
fly and fall away from pain
    slow and steadfastly
    I would raise your countenance
    that you might loosen up
    your hold
    on your inner glow
    that our awareness
    would spark more than
    tiny flashes with each
    drop of rain
    when gone is the pain
    we could light the world
    in similar glimmering
    hues of understanding
    there's more than the demanding
    suffering and woe
and once we had that glow
then we could let go enough
to let that inner beauty grow
ain't that the way love goes
that's the only love I know

Along with love comes sacrifice and, I don't know if this is what you're saying, but in a relationship a person can be demanding, overbearing, cause the other to go through longsuffering, but when the relationship reaches the level of love the demanding and suffering should be put to an end...
    ...hope you understand
    ...also I loved it!
Please go and see my poem called sisterly love and reply because it is well-thought out, and maybe you or someone can relate to it or learn from it.

    What's up Poetic Pride...
Thanx for commenting on this flow!
I guess I didn't make it too clear
where I was comin' from. The point
is that love ain't really s'posed to be
demanding. It's about giving. There is
sacrifice, but ain't that s'posed to be
the unselfish labor of love? And it should
be mutual. Maybe that's the "level" you refer
to. This was about agape love or Godly love
that you just love for love's sake kind of thing.
Maybe it didn't come across like that. With the
whole "heavenly" thing. Not at all about what
you can get from someone, but what, in Godly
love you can share with someone in pain, or
    going through some things...
    Much love!

love is a open heart which one vows in honor of giving
unto the other without looking back upon it
it's the sacrifice it pose in life ....
