albany, ga - "da country"
Occupation
technical director
grasping forthright at grief stricken straws
rolled over lofty memories of a night closely remembered
gravity makes better use of tree roots
while footsteps drift mercilessly
perhaps the challenge is staying still
against wanton compulsions to extricate
waiting is an arduous task
for those who've never seen the sunset
rising once more along tear stained joy
and again a journey remains
trust not that innocent eyes are easily deceived
arresting playas at hells gate
the fate of familiar rests in yesterdays laughter
torn into a present reality
life's questions seek refuge from stormy seas
but there is no sanctuary in a confused mind
leave it all behind is truth in the lie
without keys shackles still jingle
screaming loudly doesn't completely drown out the sound
hoarse resignation signals a battle turned
emancipation comes easily to master
those who've always been free can truly be
the ghosts of darkchild run to a distant light
past a sanity of their ancestors tears
although the road seems endless
many breaks along a sometimes winding path
motivational hunger makes a determined effort
keeping motion feverishly constant
perhaps the challenge is to keep moving
toe tap lightly in falling rain
once more and again
in line with tomorrows promise
embracing today's pain
let all clocks unwind
paying fines of simply being
taking it one day, and one step at a time...
