    On the other foot
    How does that shoe feel?
Are your toes too close to the end perhaps
Does the back slip and slide blistering your heel?

Has the mocassin's sole worn so thin such that your foot is
now one with nature, hence that tootsie's bloody, grassy scent?
Do those "kicks" pinch more than an inch
leaving imprints on your foot that appear to be near permanent?

But somehow, when I was wearing it
It was supposed to be as though I was walking on air
Despite the surface feeling like a bed of nails
I wasn't supposed to even care

My worn out shoe wasn't supposed to cause
    any callouses, spurs, or strain
And heaven forbid that I should suggest
that I was in any kind of pain

Truth is, that kind of shoe hurts like hell
The foot who wears it, no matter
Pain cares not who limped in that dreaded loafer first
The former ache, no more important than the latter

Same kind of shoe, same kind of hurt

Sister, I love how you kicked the words around in this right here! Definitely understand how you feel. And there are a few people I would encourage to walk a mile in my shoes before they dare venture to tell me how I feel.

Yes, we don't truly know how another feels before we have walked that same exact mile, and lol@"kicked the words around". Thank you a simplepoet, much appreciated.
You do 1poet? Why thank you, glad you're back in action around here.

    This was splendid....
So often the giver can never understand
or relate to how the receiver feels. Its only
when the tables have turned or in this case
the shoe is on the other foot that one
even has an ideal. I really enjoyed this write.

    Much Luv

    ok

    shoe's on the other foot
    just my 2 cents
    add a little a input
    very little suspense
    so there's no dispute
    no need to act cute

the grass is NOT always greener on the other side

    of the fence

    great retrospect here co-moderator

True 4EverLuv, one can relate, but really cannot fully know otherwise. Thank you for the luv on this poetess.
The grass usually does appear to be greener from a distance, even when it really isn't. Thank you for the flowback and response Brother So'ja.
