nature has her ways...
and high atop the mountain
nestled betwixt indigenous trees
the snow melts slowly down gentle slopes
turned brown by winter
standing on my porch, i watch
through magnified glasses
loving birds fly down to
the feeding post, dipping
their beaks ~ and fly away
high into lush evergreens
where their hungry babies wait...
i see a squirrel race across
an open patch of grass, and up onto
the bark of a tall pine ~
he disappears before my eyes
i hear music all around me
filling my space ~
the sounds that only nature
makes...
high atop the mountain, nestled
betwixt indigenous trees,
i wonder if the snow could
ever rival this meltdown
inside of me...
...Mother Nature surely has her ways...
