    time to release
    the wrongful captives
    that fill the jail cells
    to swell the pockets
    of corruption and greed
    minds lost to human needs
    Haitian and Dominican flesh
bleeds much the same as Cuban's do
    and how do we choose
    between Caribbean boatloads
    of souls
    those to be admitted
    and those we throw away
    either back to the sea
    or in holding cells
    detainees that seek the same
    freedoms of the American dream
    find time lost to indefinite
    sentences spoken over liberties
they are not to be forgotten
    rotting away in prisons
    like criminals
    because it's good for business
    what is this
    it ain't even about
    what it once was
we need to even it out
    it's true that
    America is a party
    that not everybody who
    wants to come can
    but we need laws that
are fair about just who attends
    what is legal for some
    and illegal for others
should never be a race thing
    and now we discover needs
    for national security
    yet southern and northern borders
    are still wide open
not coping with the new realities
    of terrorist infiltration with ease
    best believe they don't care
    if you yellow or brown
    black or white
when they hit your home town
to take anything that's American down
and it's just a matter of time
    better open up blind eyes
and see just what's on the horizon
