    On Perfect Skin (01/19/05)

    Discoloration on the surface
    Permanent scars
    Once a shimmering star
    Now extinguished
    Memories embedded in her mind
Marks of them on her flawless honey colored skin
    Splashes of pain
    Indications of violence
    Tormented by her kin
The physical is only a barrier
To the core of her soul
    That is permanently damaged
But the pain is bared for all to see
On her once upon a time, perfect skin

The only thing left to do is "heal" ...and start inside first.
I felt this piece poet...to the skin.
