Looking at the world through an old man’s eyes,
    My how things have changed.
Knowing how it was and what it could have been,
I wish that things had stayed the same.

Looking at the world through an old man’s eyes
Clearing out the clouds of cataracts,
Feeling all the things that this old man has felt
    Separating fiction from fact.

Looking at the world through an old man’s eyes
Fighting all the battles that he’s won,
All the people that he’s met, all the things not yet done
Dating back before time has begun.

Looking at the world through an old man’s eyes
Makes me sad that my eyes are so young
Missing all the pasts that has made my present
History that has already been sung.
