    oh dear God
    i need more strength
    courage and sustenance
    Lord if you will
    allow her please
    join me tonight
    in my dreams

    oh dear God
    i know you know
    the depths of which
    my sorrow flows
    Lord if you will
    hear my prayer
    ease my broken heart's despair

    oh dear God
    i miss her so
    how much longer
    can i go
    without her love
    please intervene
give her to me in a dream

    oh dear God
    let her hold me
    as she wipes
    my tear stained eyes
    let her say
    just one more time
    it will be okay
    dear child of mine

my heart is still racing as I sit here, feeling every line of this poem...this plea to the Lord. You have captured, in these verses, the void, the anguish, the unspeakable pain of a daughter longing for one more touch/feel of her departed mother. I am moved by your words.

You have touched tender places in me today. Thank you for sharing.

    Peace

    a

First, I must wipe the tears from my face ~

I read this piece several times and it really made me think of myself ... and my mother ~ whom I also called "My Silver Fox".
I adored her and still do... even though she is not physically here.

This piece is absolutely beautiful & heart felt indeed! There are many days and nights that I have this same prayer... Oh what feelings are evoked from within just by wishing/thinking about the absence of my mohter -- especially I think -- there's nothing I wouldn't do to have just 'one more conversation with her...', 'one more hug from her'... 'one more laugh with her' ... and even one more piece of motherly advice....

No pain can be greater than the loss of my mother!
This made me think of a piece I wrote a while ago entitled
    M.O.M My Omnipresent Masterpiece!!

Thank you Queen Destee for sharing this here.
