Oh, Black Man
© Mocha Sistah 2003

Equipped with a mindset over mind over matter,
Oh Black Man, stay strong.
With winds of discrimination caressing your face
and evil people testing you faith stay strong!

Equipped with gifts bestowed from above
Oh Black Man, stay strong.
Use thy gifts to bless the world.
Use your gift of creating and fixing things
to bless those who cannot.

Oh Black Man!
With the world on your shoulder
Never give up.
Oh Black Man!
With many heavy things thrown at thee
stay fast and hold on.
Never lose your ground.

You are fashioned with the intelligence of
Dr. Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X.
You have strength and power in your body
Like Cassius Clay!
Shake up the world with your gifts like
the political and prolific brother Amiri Baraka.

Never give up.
Keep going.
Plant seeds of positivity amongst a garden of
materialism and keeping growing like
God wants you to.

Oh Black Man.
You are the future and the foundation.

Never let again steal your thunder or
your beauty.
