    October 14, 2014

FLINT, MI -- Chloride levels in treated Flint River water are so high that General Motors will no longer use it at its engine plant here because of fears it will cause corrosion.

GM spokesman Tom Wickham said Monday, Oct. 13, that the company has reached a temporary agreement to buy Lake Huron water from Flint Township for Flint Engine Operations on West Bristol Road.

Michigan and Israel sign industrial R&D collaboration agreement
    Monday, June 16, 2014

LANSING – Governor Rick Snyder and Consul General of Israel to the Midwest Roey Gilad today signed a bilateral cooperation agreement to promote joint industrial research and development projects. The pact is intended to promote and enhance the economic partnership between Michigan and Israel, calling for issuance of a request for proposals (RFP) from for-profit business collaborations between Michigan and Israeli companies.

“This is a breakthrough opportunity between Michigan and Israel, two centers of global leadership in technology research and development, in a moment in history that values innovation,” Snyder said. “Our shared entrepreneurial spirit and technology leadership combine for a broad range of possibilities across a range of industries, such as automotive, cyber security, water technologies, life sciences and defense.”

This would be a something to brush off as "so??", until reading the apparent "wink/nod deal" Michigan made with General Motors (Israel).

Read further in the above article, and it reads:

The signing comes a year after Snyder led a delegation to Israel where he met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other senior government leaders. During the mission, he and Naftali Bennett, Israel's Minister of Economy, signed a letter of intent that is the basis of today’s agreement. During his mission, Snyder toured the General Motors Advanced Technical Center Israel in Herzliya, met with several automotive companies with Michigan ties and attended an automotive reception sponsored by the Michigan Israel Business Bridge. Additional stops took the delegation to entrepreneurial companies in a variety of high tech sectors.

GM says it supports 'anti-Tesla' bill on Gov. Rick Snyder's desk
    October 21, 2014

DETROIT, MI - General Motors released a statement Tuesday throwing its support behind HB 5606, proposed Michigan legislation now on Gov. Rick Snyder's desk that California electric car maker Tesla Motors calls "anti-Tesla."

"We believe that House Bill 5606 will help ensure that all automotive manufacturers follow the same rules to operate in the State of Michigan; therefore, we encourage Governor Snyder to sign it," reads GM's one-sentence statement, posted to its media webpage.

HB 5606, which primarily deals with fees auto dealerships charge for preparing documents, had language added in a substitute from the Senate floor that alters one word of state law, essentially reinforcing a ban on selling cars directly to consumers in Michigan. According to a lawyer for Palo Alto-based Tesla, the proposed legislation also goes further and prohibits them from displaying their cars to potential customers.

Gov. Snyder signs bill banning direct Tesla sales
    October 22, 2014

Gov. Rick Snyder signed a controversial bill Tuesday that will prevent electric vehicle maker Tesla Motors from selling without a dealership network

Governor Rick Snyder signed bipartisan legislation Tuesday aimed at discouraging Tesla Motors from selling its electric cars directly through company stores.

House Bill 5606, sponsored by state Rep. Aric Nesbitt, also prohibits auto manufacturers from dictating fees franchised dealers can charge customers. The legislation allows individual auto dealers to make the business decision whether to charge the transaction fee.

Earlier Tuesday, General Motors urged the governor to sign the bill.

Interesting Israel/Michigan connection as it relates to General Motors and Michigan water woes.
Things that make you go "hmmmmm".

Someone should investigate this deal that was signed in June 2014 between Israel and Rick Snyder, just saying.

Child’s letter stirs Obama’s visit to Flint
    April 27, 2016

Washington— President Barack Obama is planning to visit Flint on May 4 to spotlight the city’s lead-contaminated water that has deprived the city’s 100,000 residents of reliable access to drinking and bathing water.

A White House official said Obama will travel to Flint next week to “hear first-hand from Flint residents about the public health crisis, receive an in-person briefing on the federal efforts in place to help respond to the needs of the people of Flint, and deliver remarks to community members.”

U.S. Rep. Dan Kildee, D-Flint Township, said he welcomes Obama’s visit nearly four months after the president declared a state of emergency in Flint.

Flint mother who was one of the first to sue over water crisis found shot to death

"She just wanted what was best for her son," her New York-based lawyer Corey Stern told the Daily News on Friday. "She loved her son."

    ...

Stern says he is representing approximately 1,000 Flint children, and emphasized they are individual cases — it is not a class action suit. He has been traveling to the city over the last few months.

Any investigation that doesn't shed light on why they went to a known toxic water source and pawned it off as "ok", would be suspect and more of a cover up.
