    if today's society is corrupt
if today's communities are run down
if today's youths are out of control

    how do we correct this?

    when the man stands/sits
    on the street corner
    watching
    waiting
    'coz it's understood
    that crime runs ramphant
in the streets of the hood

    whadaya do?

    when neighbor hates neighbor
because of the flava of their flow
ready to go toe to toe
    announcing their disdain
for all the world to know

    whadaya do?

    when young people
    are evil
    in their tongue and acts
and decency and respect they generally lack
and a rat-ta-tat-tat is the language they know
    step to you, smiling
    "gimme da cheddar, yo'"
    so,
    you become a prisoner
    in community and home
    dead bolts and chains
    and a cellular phone
    afraid to step out
    your door at night
    didn't hear about the killing
    don't wanna see no fight

    whadaya do?

    get the elders together
    ...take back the streets
    get rid of the dreads
    hood rats
    and police
    spank your children ***
    when they get outta line
never think twice about dropping a dime
    let the bad azzez know
    you ain't taking no more
    to take their ****
    and disrespect
and get the hell out yo' door

    NO FEAR

    this is my house
    i pay the bills
you gotta raise up to live here.

    peace.

    you know I'M feeling this

    "spank your children ***
when they get outta line "

i think getting my *** whup saved me from doing a bid like most of my uncontrolled friends

because when we were young (i mean 17 thru 22) you are blinded you don't see the game like the older cats.

    loving the message here

Speak the truth baller speak it. In West African tradition if you are in the presence of an elder you must ask for permission to speak...that's deep...now imagine if we practiced this here. Would all the ignorance be heard as prevelant? Tight work black.

    one love,blak

The elders have lived long for a reason, this isn't promised to everyone, and should be respected. I appreciate this drop.

    Hi Baller  ...
    good to meet pens again.

The pope said: Give me your child from "birth to 7" ...and you can have them back.
now let's get real...what does that mean??...it means what a child learns from the cradle to the age of 7...that alone will determing the rest of their lives (at lease most) its up to us (parents) to define and mold their lives at these very cruisal and inportant years. Try if you will going out to the streets trying to pull a child in at 8 -9 -10 - and up...my brother, you (we) are headed for a rude awakening...sadly. It takes a WHOLE...not half, but a whole village to raise a child...unfortunally our village is children too.
I really like this piece...scribe on...
