... “This deal is not built on trust, it is built on verification” Obama said from the State Floor of the White House, with Vice President Joe Biden at his side. “Every pathway to a nuclear weapon is cut off, and the inspection and transparency regime necessary to verify that objective will be put in place.” ...

    Nuclear negotiations with Iran

From left to right, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier, European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammon, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz pose for a group picture at the United Nations building in Vienna, Austria, Tuesday, July 14, 2015. After 18 days of intense and often fractious negotiation, world powers and Iran struck a landmark deal Tuesday to curb Iran's nuclear program in exchange for billions of dollars in relief from international sanctions — an agreement designed to avert the threat of a nuclear-armed Iran and another U.S. military intervention in the Muslim world. Obama warns Congress not to stand in the way of Iran deal

... In his remarks Tuesday, the president renewed his vow to veto any such legislation and urged lawmakers to consider the repercussions of their actions. He painted a grim scenario in which the rest of the world struck its own nuclear deals with Iran, leaving the U.S. isolated. And without the limitations and verifications included in the deal announced Tuesday, Obama said he or a future U.S. president would be more likely to face a decision about using U.S. military action to prevent Iran from building a bomb ...

It's a very complicated agreement with a great deal of technical details. I will have to depend on the filters of the media over the next few weeks to obtain an explanation on what it all means. For now, I'm going to trust the president and Secretary Kerry on this one.

He should have had more press conferences, many more. He promised the most transparent administration in history but has been totally the opposite. He gets high marks for his accompishments but very low marks on transparency.

Obama Scolds Major Garrett For 'Nonsense' Question

"That's nonsense. And you should know better."

President Barack Obama publicly scolded CBS News' Major Garrett during a gathering of the press corps at the White House on Wednesday, chastising the reporter for asking if the president is "content" to celebrate the Iran nuclear deal while four American hostages remain in Iran ...

It was a legitimate question. The president is the one who should have known better than to snap at a member of the press just doing his job. That foolish mistake overshadowed the focus of the press conference. President Obama needs to show a little more class and self-control. Perhaps he is rusty because he's given so few press conferences. Perhaps he needs to get more sleep. He is looking a bit old these days.

As Major has been doing all along, he showed Mr. Obama no respect, but this time he got his bell rung, yep!

Barack Obama shuts down reporter: 'You should know better'

President Barack Obama’s patience grew short during his news conference on Wednesday, telling CBS News correspondent Major Garrett “you should know better” after he asked a question relating to the four Americans being held in Iran.

Obama bristled when Garrett said the president should have to answer for the celebration around the deal, when the detained Americans remain in Iran ...

I didn't get that impression from the questioner. The gentleman who asked the question was being a bit snarky but Obama is the president of the United States and can't afford to be seen as petty. Numerous politicians and pundits have criticized the president for not tying this agreement to the release of the four American citizens being unjustly held in Iran. It was an legitimate question. The president did himself no favors by snapping at a reporter because reporters tend to stick up for each other.
