    .......
Obama lets states opt out of No Child Left Behind

"Given that Congress cannot act, I am acting," Mr. Obama said.
President Obama unveiled the most significant changes to U.S. education policy in a decade, using his executive authority to give states more flexibility to opt of some provisions of the controversial No Child Left Behind program that was a signature initiative of President George W. Bush.

This is a great move on President Obama's part. As a parent, that NCLB law became another barrier I had to strategically maneuver and caused me, as well as, other parents to become experts overnight and carry the brunt of ensuring our children didn't fall in the gap, and sadly many children have done just that..fallen. Thanks for the update Brother Clyde!

How about giving an equal amount of funding to schools in Black neighborhoods as is given to schools in White neighborhoods? Since schools are funded by property taxes as long as property values are automatically lowered when Black folks move in there will always be inequality in funding. How long before we get in our heads that these people just don't care about our children? . They play different games with seemingly different rules, but the object of the games is always the same.

    In the Spirit of Sankofa,

.......Not only that but the President is tired of politics on the Hill and their indecision to improve this 10 year old program. Bush signed this into law in Ohio, the district of Boehner. Its good to see Mr. Obama exude his executive authority pushing back to the States for resolve.

    Peace In,

I hope this is just one and the first thing that he acts upon. If Congress and others are determined to make him a one term President. He needs to go in and wreak havoc on everything within his power. He has nothing to lose!!!

Parents should, in turn, opt their kids out of public schooling.

    My opinion of course .....
