I remember the 1st time I heard this & I was like - Thas deep!
The way I see it, if our people aren't doing anything towards educating (not indoctrinating) themselves and also, especially those grown folks with money in the music bizz are not contributing anything of value to our youths and towards making our communities better, then I say yea "Y'all should all get lynched..." fa real!!
When it comes to the the young ones I always got something to say. I may not have a £100,000 studio and money behind me etc but at least I am doing something with our youths/children using music, singing, poetry, rap etc to help raise their minds and levels of consciousness. Children are like little gems, and if we want these gems to shine in a bright and positive future, then we must "recognise the need for change and redirect our thinking process because the first steps towards change begins in ones mind.
There is one song that I absolutely love the words to, I'm sure you'll remember it...it goes: "I believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way... , Everybodys searching for a hero, we all need someone to look up to... ." Well, that person should be you and I and not some pop star or film star they see portrayed in the media. Why are we throwing our children to the vultures of the media who soley are about destroying family values? Lets look at the advertisements and the programmes and the music videos they dare to show these days, promoting unruly kids, sex, violence, materialism, etc. Why should we leave our children to believe in the illusions subjected upon thier innocence. We as a people, as a race have to check ourselves. We have to be people with definite insight and direction who CAN and WILL positively affect the lives of our little reflections in EVERY way. And if you're not doing that then "Y'all should all get lynched..."
Thanks 4 this sis Zee
Peace...
