NRA says Congress will not pass weapons ban

WASHINGTON (AP) — The powerful gun lobby is gauging enough support in Congress to block a law that would ban assault weapons, despite promises from the White House and senior lawmakers to make such a measure a reality.
Senators plan to introduce a bill that would ban assault weapons and limit the size of ammunition magazines, like the one used in the December shooting massacre that killed 27 people, most of them children, in Newtown, Conn. Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California has promised to push for a renewal of expired legislation.

They were banned once before... and folks were still getting shot up... this is all political posturing. The number one Arms dealer in the world can't/won't ever ban weapons. Their are already too many out in circulation.. cutting off the supply of new assault weapons for a few years is just going to increase the market value of what's already in circulation.. and when the ban is once again lifted, we'll be right back to square one. Time would be better spent focusing on the violence in video games and film.. the violence that influences the masses.

Politically speaking.. a weapons ban is just what the republican party needs to galvanize it's base for 2016.

It's a wait and see right now:

Gun lobby: Congress doesn't have the muscle to pass gun control

A month after Sandy Hook shootings, lawmakers are scaling back expectations on what can be achieved in Congress on gun control. But Democrats are urging the White House to use executive powers.

Sorry, I left out the word "with." Now the sentence makes sense.

What about the younger generation? Have they forget something they never knew?

The word Black is taboo amongst many young people, use it and they'll call you racist lol, they are subscribed to that modern Chris Rock philosophy...Black men are the most racist. I guess it comes down to what parents teach their kids.

I heard a Black female commentator on MSNBC bring up the point regarding the NRA,reagan and their gun control wants in fear of the Panthers.
