Not Receiving Emails From Community

    Not Receiving Emails From Community


    Greetings Family,

    Some Members have brought to our attention, that when a thread they are subscribed to, is posted to, they are NOT receiving those email notices. If you are having this problem too, please let us know. If you are receiving the email notices, let us know that too, please.

    For those not receiving the notices, follow the steps below, to be sure that your settings are correct.

    1. Go to your control panel and click on Edit Options. You'll see a screen like below:

    2. Make sure you have chosen ... Instant Email Notification ... if that's what you want.

    3. Move down the page, and click the SAVE CHANGES button.

    That's it. You should begin receiving the message notifications via email.

    If you do the above, and continue to have problems, please post them in this thread.

    Tech support has sent an email test, from the community, to your email address.

    It should look like this:

    Subject: vBulletin Email Test

    You are receiving this email because your email address was entered as an email test at Black People | African Americans | Destee.

    The first step of this email test script has been completed. However, a formatting test is still necessary:

    A paragraph break.
    A single line break.

    Another paragraph break.
    Another single line break.
    Another single line break.

    If the above lines look correct, you are finished. The email features on your server are setup correctly.
    If this email is run together on one line, there is possibly a configuration error with your mail server. Please ensure it is configured correctly.

    Tech support confirms the email was sent, and is working fine on this end.

    If you've received this email, please let me know. If you haven't, its possible the problem may be on your end.

    I apologize for the inconvience! We are looking into it, and trying to resolve it the best we can.

    PurpleMoons and Tech Support,

    Did not the receive the test e-mail, checked several times but nothing has been received, however, I am getting e-mails from other sources.

    i've just learnt that the main web address is "[email protected]"
    This should be surfice in your endeavers. I sincerely hope this helps.

    Brother Clyde ... i've just sent you two different emails ... one from the forum ... and one from my own email address.

    They say the following :

    Please let me know if you receive this email.

    We're just not sure why you are not receiving email updates. We've checked everything we can see to check. Verified that the email notices are going out (i actually turned mine on, so i could see, and turned it back off, as the notices were filling up my box).

    We've verified that your own settings, here on the forum, are correct.

    So i'm just not sure why you aren't receiving emails from us.

    By sending the two emails above ... will tell us if any "destee.com" email is able to get to you.

    I'm wondering, do you have a spam folder, where the mail may be going?

    We're kinda stumped on this one, it's so isolated, only happening to you (i think).

    Family ... if you're not receiving emails from the community, that you expect to receive, please let us know.

    If you are receiving them, let us know that too.

    This will help us trouble-shoot the problem ... knowing if it is just one person, or many.

    Don't worry Brother Clyde ... we've not given up.

    Destee,

    The one e-mail I received and replied to came from your Yahoo address. I did not receive the other e-mail sent from the forums/site.

    I do have AT&T checking on spams, folders etc...They will get back to me, hopefully by tomorrow. Besides checking on this address: [email protected], AT&T will check all e-mail addresses found from domain: Destee.com, to ensure allowance and no blocking.

    For your information, the problem began to occur after the site came up, not before the site went down.

    And thank you for not giving up, I will not worry....too much:)

    Yes, i sent a 3rd email from my yahoo address, just to check.

    It does appear that no emails from destee.com are getting to you.

    Thanks for checking with your email provider, maybe they can give us some insight.

    Please do let us know what they say, and i'll continue to try and figure it out over here.
