Our people are unbelievable. In a time where knowledge is more available than any other time known to mankind we are lined up to buy sneakers marked up 200% when most of us know **** well we cant afford them and the light bill and every other bill hasnt even been met...How is it that these people can line up for and tear up the place for sneakers but wont do the same for economic justice??? Yes Im disgusted...

We are a people defined by the powers that be by our appearance; then many of our primary cultural consumption relates to image. Of course we are a bit vain.

But in the 60s and 70s that vanity was turned towards, "New Breed" clothing, ade and designed by folks of African descent!

Since the era of hip hop gangsta rap, Sports figures and entertainers have set the trends and styles, and have been paid millions to dupe the community into mass consumerism, rather then collective economics, as many Black banks and credit unions "like some kinda conspiracy" all of a sudden crashed and folded with no bailout just before the crack epidemic.

That musical hypnotic form has taken the natural militancy of the youth of an obviously oppressed people and turned it away from a focus on the oligarchy to a focus on turning the anger towards each other, and an escape into crass materialism at any cost and expense, to the point of making the Jones jealous

Entertainers and sports stars were not pimping the community in the 60s and early 70s, but trying to help us, and real help, not just some Turkeys on Thanksgiving or the smoked and salted leg of a swine on Christmas.

Instead of Boycotting Wall street by refusing to spend not even one dollar, during the most important five days of the entire merchandizing and manufacturing, period of the entire capitalist year, we kill each other for the over priced trinkets that keep us off focus

like Aesop'story of "the Grasshopper and the Ant", in preparing for the future, and economic disasters right around the corner!
