No Mercy

Coming at life like a wild pit bull
Stick up kid without a nickel
Caught between the middle
In a pickle
Life ain’t so simple
Red blood is all that trickles

The streets is the role model
A rap sheet to follow
Clips filled with hollows
13 and smoking
and holding a bottle
Living in the fast lane
full thrust on the throttle

no mercy
become a number like
that football jersey
scarred for life
makes you worthy
life makes you run like a horse
in the Kentucky derby
away from poison out front
and the one from the clergy
the streets has a way of stressin’
a way of teaching lessons
pass or fail testin’
a dead body

...the streets teach many lessons...giving out degrees in survival. but, hopefully, it also teaches patience...and understanding...and tolerance...and the knowledge to walk away from the frey...coz another day...may just mean another way of seeing yesterday. anyway, THANKS for this STREET KNOWLEDGE, So'ja. as always, you're well informed.
