After some here have claimed a U. S. backed covert ploy helped those inept Libyan rebels to topple a once powerful strongman, your lack of comments I've noticed too..

    FYI...

There have been protests in this nation too...

    I. e., it's the flip side to the so called 'Arab Spring', and no use denying the obvious...

Haters fronting behind either Islam or Christianity are trying to bully the rest of us into another world war...

I don't intend to sit idly by and say nothing about such b. s.

    FYI...

The backdrop is the U. S. and Western nations being conceived and perceived of trying to impose our ways of life etc. on them...

    I. e., less well off people do tend to accept simplistic takes on complex issues/problems/etc.

Instead we can't and shouldn't remain so (self) centered on ourstory, then fail to consider those of others...

As in: Their decades of underdevelopment, by the way of British and European colonialism, too...

Also, while some choose to move forward, others regress and retreat...

Anyway, no disrepect intended nor meant, and thanks for the feedback...

    FYI...

Dont get ahead of yourself. The arab world is far from being united, and even if it was they couldnt wage war against christianity (the western world: Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zeland) without getting obliterated in less than a week.

The only plausible scenario for a real world war would be the West vs the East, and that is not going to happen anytime soon.

First of all: Do keep in mind there are over one BILLION devotees of Islam, around the globe, poster...

Second of all, the three once all powerful world powers are having their own share of internal issues/problems/etc.

    I. e., it is within the vacuum some other parties are advancing their agendas, too...

Hence old Cold War era takes have to give way to new (updated) ones...

    FYI...

Islam is grossly outgunned in every angle and devotion alone is not enough to win wars. Not to mention the islamic world has far bigger issues than christian nations and they are busier toppling their own governments and fighting among themselves.

You are talking about third world nations fighting against the most developed countries in the world. Cowboys vs Indians all over again.

    Cowboys vs Indians?

Is your take so mass media oriented, since even some indian nations warriors actually took on U. S. troops etc., and didn't go down without putting up a good fight, i. e., which is why some of our relations owe the forebears of the old Seminole Nation big props, since during the so called Second Seminole War many enslaved blacks were freed in the process!?!

Sometimes the cliched ridden comebacks here reveal folks own lack of doing your homework etc. too...

    But not to digress...

Let's do flashforward a wee bit...

And also do recall, in spite of the losses their people suffered in the process, The Vietcong and their North Vietnamese counterparts fought earlier and more numerous U. S. troops, and eventually the U. S. sued for peace...

    As was true then:

The U. S. has failed to win the 'hearts and minds' of the folks in two particular Arab nations so much of them--so called Islamist insurgents or not--are just as angered by U. S. troops who openly reveal their bigotry by burning Korans and racism by whizzing on the dead bodies of their presumed/assumed militants...

Also do recall the tactics etc. of the so called founders of this nation:

They just started out as a mere handful...

Among that mere handful were the ones who toppled this nation's World Trade Center complex...

Let us stay in touch with reality...

Not continue to deny the obvious...

    FYI...

So? They still got decimated, and so will muslims if they decide to wage war against the west.

You have little grasp of what went down in the Vietnam war. The ones doing most of the fighting were the vietnamese themselves, south vs north. It was a proxy war between the U.S and the Soviet Union. You really think that with no foreign aid (weapons, resources, planes, tanks, food, supplies) the vietnamese would be able to beat the U.S or the Soviet Union?

WTC was a terrorist attack, it wasnt war. What happened after, now that was a war, and now Afghanistan and Iraq are in ruin because of that.

Terrorist attacks is ALL they can do. They pose no real threat to the U.S/Canada, Europe or Australia/New Zeland. If you think they do then you have no idea what you are talking about.

Everyone understands that the West cannot be defeated using conventional war tactics. This is why the West is so paranoid about maintaining their nuclear lead. And this is why the Arab world fights back using their strength [guerrilla style terrorism]. Neither side is more honorable than the other.

What is plausible, and is going to happen, is that the West will self-destruct, is self-destructing. What occurs after that is not clear. Ideally, the non-West would learn from the mistakes of the West and seek a better Way than hating and killing your enemies. But there is no indication, so far, that the non-Western world is any wiser than the West.
