I pass people everyday
and I speak
I meet people everyday
that I pass
For I only have time for
Hello and
nice to meet you

I think back
to the moment
that phrase changed

An introduction was in order
you see
cuz I had to meet you
for me
even though YOU SAY you
hadn't noticed me

I smile at that day
I know it was fate
I didn't know what to say
or what to do
so all I said was
nice to meet you

The day we shared a glance
our eyes met
and our hearts made plans
to be
together forever
and it appeared
that we
were only shaking hands

but we were
setting goals
and achieving them too
we were
embracing souls
and exchanging I do's
but to everyone in the room
it sounded like
Nice to meet you

because this time it was true
