NIA! PURPOSE without it how would we survive.
Why without it not a dream, nor vision nor scribe
    would be alive.
Nia! the fifth night of Kwanzaz, our people have
always searched for it. Some found it in Freedoms
redemptive song, on with the Civil Rights Movement
and then they just moved along.
Shuffling their feet in an endless beat of apathy
Drinking cheap wine and smoking rock and losing
    all sense and sensibility!
No purpose and the people become as the undead.
No idea of what occurred behind them and no direction
    to lead them ahead.

    NIA! Harambee...Habari gani!
What is your purpose, to have the phat ride
with the flyest girl inside. No thought of college
    and no neighborhood pride.
Nia! What is your purpose, to have more things
than Mr. And Mrs. Jones, and their closet full of dry
bones! Nia find ya purpose and your ancestors
    live on.

Nia means purpose, my pupose is to keep promises
of honor to my ancestors and parents. To leave something
behind other than bad credit. To leave words so powerful
that you never forget it. To live a life so full and truthful
and fruitful that you/ I never regret it.
On the fifth day of Kwanzaa the first
green candle is lit to represent the lush rolling hills of our
beautiful Motherland ,Africa. Green the color of hope and
in Purpose their is hope to be fulfilled!
    What is your NIA?

    Harambee!

Habri Gani! What is the news...Spreading knowledge about who we are...knowledge and love...Love for my people motivates what I scribe...I end the scribe on the Seventh day...but I pray the Spirit of Kwanzaa like Christmas last all year long.

*On the lighter side...the seven days of fasting from sun-up to sun-down...helps get rid of some of that Christmas indulgence
the fellowship focuses on shared history and reinforces the bond that Christ first tried to establish with the first Family...his earthly family Mary and Joseph!

Happy New year...Blessings on ya house...KUUMBA...coming next!
