An easy schedule is the last thing the jets need. They play much better under pressure.... If their coach would stop making all of these predictions maybe they could focus more on the day by day task at hand instead of trying to focus on post season action before they even play the first game of the season.....

Brian Urlacher energizes Jay Cutler, Bears in rout of Falcons

CHICAGO -- If there was any doubt the Chicago Bears were serious about contending again in the NFC, they took a big step toward erasing it.
Brian Urlacher had an interception and returned a fumble for a touchdown, Jay Cutler threw for 312 yards and two scores and the Bears pounded Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons 30-12 on Sunday.

Rams take injury hit on offense as Michael Vick, Eagles take opener
Vick rushed for 98 yards and passed for two scores, LeSean McCoy scored twice and DeSean Jackson topped 100 yards receiving as the Eagles began their self-proclaimed Super Bowl drive with a 31-13 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

Texans don't need Arian Foster to rout Colts as Peyton Manning sits out

HOUSTON -- The Indianapolis Colts looked lost without Peyton Manning and the Houston Texans took advantage, with Matt Schaub threw for 220 yards and a touchdown in a 34-7 rout Sunday.

Colts......Will be at lost and this might be the year we see them on the bottom searching for help! most likely they will not make the playoffs without Manning.......

Joe Flacco throws 3 TDs as Ravens rough up Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Ravens had just beaten their bitter rivals in record-breaking fashion, and some of the players felt inclined to put some perspective on their 35-7 manhandling of the defending AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Detroit Lions have lofty expectations, and a healthy Matthew Staffordcould give them a chance to meet them and end a decade of futility.

The third-year quarterback who's struggled to stay on the field early in his pro career threw for 305 yards and three touchdowns Sunday, helping the Lions withstand several critical mistakes and beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 27-20 for their fifth consecutive victory dating to the final month of the 2010 season.

"It's a good sign," Stafford said after Detroit opened a season with a win for the first time since 2007, overcoming the young quarterback throwing an interception that was returned for a touchdown, a long kickoff return that set up a Tampa Bay field goal and several costly penalties.

"Obviously, you don't want those mistakes to keep coming back," Stafford added. "You've got to fix those, iron those out."

Jim Schwarz, beginning his third season of a rebuilding project that began after the Lions went winless in 2008, agreed.

GROSSMAN 305 yards took it to NY GIANTS

NEW YORK JETS say WE DID IT FOR THE CITY
As ROMO look like BOBO !!!! as the Cowgirls crumble
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Nick Folk kicked a 50-yard field goal with 27 seconds left, giving the New York Jets a 27-24 comeback victory over the Dallas Cowboysin the final game of the NFL's first full Sunday with the commemoration of the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks as an emotional backdrop.

With the game tied at 24, the Cowboys had a chance for a winning drive with 59 seconds left, but Tony Romo was intercepted on the first play by Darrelle Revis, who returned it 20 yards to Dallas' 34. Four plays later, Folk kicked the go-ahead field goal against his former team.

The Jets tied it with 5 minutes left when Isaiah Trufant, promoted from the practice squad Saturday, ran in a blocked punt from 18 yards for a touchdown. Joe McKnight ran up the middle unblocked and got his hands on Mat McBriar's kick, which bounced right into Trufant's hands.
