Yes, people can commune with their ancestors. Namely me! There are very precise and careful methods to invoke them .

Psychic ability is determined by the mother -child relation. My mother is a medium so it was fairly well developed in me before birth.

Most psychics operate on a gut feeling so to speak, thru meditation and libation your psychic awareness increases. There is a direct correlation between "talking" as well as feeding your ancestors and the hightened awareness of psychic ability

i just viewed this thread this morning! The more i see your post the more i begin two think that our paths kind of mirror one another at times. My mother two is very intouch with her inner or spritual self. I have heard revelaitions from her as well as her mentor regarding me i have seen come to past. My question is this: I often her music when i go into trance(tribal tones vibration). this music is often accompanied by language. i have often written it down and tried to convey it to my family or friends. They just think that i am crazy as a betsy bug. MY mother just tells to sit down and concentrate. That is easy for her to say because she is advanced and much of her dna is already in tune with the process as with most of our women being in tune with the neters. I will scan the thread for any helpful info i can get. Please dialouge with me . are u fimilar with offerings for our ancestos and other principles praticed by the dogon. Yes, I think we have something very much in sync here. Perhaps it's our yearning to know and understand ourselves, or it could be we're walkin together on the same path, or its just something bigger than what we can understand at this point, but I do feel the connection also.

I can recall a time when I've heard drums and a language I didn't understand. I also had a vision that accompanied that. I remember an African man reached out to me and lead me closer to a ceremony that was going on. There were other people who was dancing, singing, and talking to me. I never truly understood why I was hearing and seeing these things in my mind, and I still don't. I just brushed it off as something that was implanted in my mind by television and/or movies.

As for libation, I haven't tried that. I feel I'm not knowledgeable enough to practice this method without someone more experience around to guide me. I don't want to screw up and pull in the wrong energy. I do feel as if my Ancestors have been with me, protecting me from dark energies all my life. I have been in some very bad situations and made it out physical unharmed. Situations that many aren't so fortunate in. I have even witness harm come to those who have/have tried to hurt me drastically. Some might say its just a coincidence, but in my heart I don't feel it is. Sometimes I feel like something just wraps its arms around me and hugs me. I would get this very warm and loved sensation all throughout me. The kind that just makes you melt inside out. I can almost hear a voice from inside say, "Don't worry, I got you." The Brothers and Sisters here who knows more about offerings, usually will help you. Just ask them. I'm almost sure they'll be willing to share this information.

People who don't recognized certain changes in their own body, or rarely take notice of people around them, usually don't understand when you speak of hearing sounds, seeing strange things, and premonitions you've witnessed come to past. So I usually talk with my sisters, who are familiar with such. Sometimes you won't understand what it means for years. Then oneday, it will hit you. Your mother is right. Don't beat yourself up to understand, just put it in your memory. You will know when it is time to know.

Oh Yeah! I just got this book yesterday that Brother I-Kahn recommended in one of his threads. It's titled: Zulu Shaman....Dreams, Prophecies, and mysteries, By Credo Mutwa. He's a Dogon Chief. If I find something pertaining to offerings in it, I will post it for you.

I will soon be digging through some crates and digging out some music myself which I have had in my posession for years just to see the degree in whch it increases my "iration". It seems more than a handful of us have been following a similar path for years. Excellent information in this thread. Thanks for sharing sister PM. I had forgot about this one.
