why you celebratin'?
walkin' around pontificatin'
on what a glorious day this iz
the fourth of Jew-lie

no really this ain't no anti-semitic piece
I was just phonetically speakin'
ya dig?

but dig,
how can you celebrate a helliday
when you was still shackled and chained
name changed brain rearranged
body maimed...if...
yo black *** wasn't pickin' no cotton

I figure you must have forgotten that
around that time you wuz still 3/5ths
but you must have forgotten that ****
in the smoke of too many spliffs, or
if yo *** ain't ghetto in the *** of
too many "yes bosses" trying
to crack glass ceilings and darken the
board room / so you can vroom vroom
in a jaguar to a suburb far far
away from your folks...see...

negro ya lost find yaself in your living room
and still walking around in mental circles

"yo, ******" why you sell a bratin'?

mouth watering for succulent bar b qued
memories of rockets blariing and fireworks
and cotton fields and leather whips and swinging
low and sweet chariots and thick as lariets
that hung brothers from trees...****** please
this is only a quick thought on how your mind has been
bought and you weren't aware that you were selling
it / so blow your **** nose look at all the ****
around you and start smelling it...

just because it looks like a rose don't mean it's a
rose / so i guess ****** now you know...

ya better hurry...the ship too the new world is leaving ya
