Black People : Negative Black People

I attempted to give a response to some of her exclaims on youtube.
She wouldn't let me 'in'. lol.

Either that, or it's still "pending approval".

She, AtlantaSistah made this comment:

"We can began to counteract negative points of view with positive ones. Also, when you are around folks that are putting our race down, challenge them on it. No, not argue, just a simple challenge. Ask them what proof they have to back up the foolishness they spout. Give them an alternate point of view."

Okay.

However if she is encouraging that others, "Ask them what proof they have to back up..." what they "spout", then surely she would see it as only fair that she be asked/required to show proof to back up her claim when such a request is put before her. I wanna know who they are that she's "so tired of".

If they are on youtube, then it shouldn't be, for her, hard to prove I reckon.

Well, this Sistah said that she didn't wanna put those other Black women "on blast."

This video was just her response to what she had heard/digested that day.

Perhaps she may reply to you and tell you who they were. *shrug* I don't know.

But, why is it so important for you to know exactly who the other women were and their videos?

Do you think this Sistah just made up this RANT out of thin air?

Do you not believe that there ARE some "NEGATIVE BLACK PEOPLE" out here, men and women, who are just as this Sistah described?

Okay...So, you one them "show & prove" brothas, huh....You gotta SEE the videos she talked about YOURSELF so YOU can determine if they were as "negative" as SHE said or just HER opinion, huh?

And, YES, this was HER OPINION of those videos she had seen.

So, she spoke on "NEGATIVE BLACK PEOPLE" and the IMPACT and INFLUENCE such people have on US AS A PEOPLE and how we need some BALANCE in and among ourselves.

And I agree with her.

We don't ALWAYS need to be talkin' bout what is so WRONG with each other and how BAD everything is WITH and FOR Black people.

...And if it IS THAT BAD, then SHUT-UP and don't TALK ABOUT IT/BE ABOUT IT.

For me, that's basically what she was saying in this video.

Possibly for the same reason why she see it as important that folks back up "the foolishness" they "spout".
If it's "foolishness" then why bother asking someone to "back it up", but I digress.

In general? Why, in the affirmative, I say yes.

However, she got specific in some instances. It is to that, that I take her advice
and ask that she render proof. To charge what she exclaims as "foolishness" or otherwise is premature
without the facts, so I won't put the cart before the horse, if you will.

What does it benefit her that she advises folks to ask others to back their stuff up? Isn't it, in that case a means
to determine that what they say is 'foolishness' as she said? What's good for the goose, right?

I agree.

However, I opine that one deals with the negatives by countering it with positives. Getting all worked up, in my opinion..., I can't see how that's any more helpful.

This presupposes that she know what those whom she is "so tire of" is doing. Now I don't KNOW, so I can only wonder, if she is inferring that "don't talk about it/be about it" paradigm because she simply don't like what she is hearing. I'm not going down to the atl, to she what she's doing or not doing. I certainly do not know if she's being about what she's speaking. Quit frankly, I don't care.

If someone was in ear shot of you, preaching that gospel that you believe is the 'truth' do you think to yourself, 'is that person being about what he/she is speaking about?" Or have you thought, "is AtlantaSistah being about what she is speaking about?" Well, you did say that you agreed with her.

For me, that's basically what she was saying in this video.

That's cool too.
