This version of venting is for others' own good, not mine because I know better. I've seen folks post things about how much they hate where they're working and trust me, I have been in a job that I hated so much before, like a lot of us have. I know some of us are probably working somewhere where we do not like, but the last thing you want to do is post it on Facebook or any social network for the world to see because it can get in the wrong hands and you can lose that job you need. A couple of my former co-workers from the previous job I worked at got fired just a few days ago because of this. Companies are becoming more and more nosy about what you post publicly and plus you should be extremely careful who you trust because you can wind up trusting the wrong person and they may turn into the next boot-licker for your supervisor and betray you and that won't turn out to be good at all. Yes, I understand the First Amendment Rights (freedom of speech) argument but some companies do not care about that and its best you keep your mouth closed unless you can find something nice to say about where you are. Very very very important, especially for this time of year. This is the wrong time of year to be losing your job. And to top it off, not only does your current employer looks at this stuff, but its quite probable that your future employers do too. Real Talk!

Thanks for those pointers, my beloved Sister. I'm glad you vented lol.

This reminds me so much of a PBS documentary I saw on the Clinton years a couple days ago! Monica Lewinski did just what you warn against - she trusted the "wrong person," an older female co-worker who unbeknownst to her, hated both Bill and Hillary, and with an unbridled passion! She was the woman who fed the special prosecutor, Ken Starr, all the dirt about Bill and Monica, even the semen-stained dress. She did it all the while encouraging Lewinski to spill her guts and "cry on her shoulder."

Btw, Freedom of Speech is a Right. However, it carries no promise that there won't be 'consequences' to what you blab - in cyberspace or the real world. You have the Right to yell "fire!" in a crowded theatre; law enforcement has the Right to arrest and put you in jail for causing a riot at that theatre, as well. You have a Right to vent on FB about your crummy job; your employer has a Right to read FB, as well, and kick you to the curb and give that crummy job to someone who appreciates it.
