NBA Playoffs about to heat up and the Teams are in

    From the EAST
    1. PISTONS... 64 - 18 NBA best record
    2. HEAT........ 52 - 30 can they make a run ?
    3. NETS........ 49 - 33 looks good this year!
    4. CAVS........ 50 - 32 can L.James carry them through ?
    5. WIZARDS... 42 - 40 facing James & the cavs look slim.
    6. PACERS..... 41 - 41 questionable facing the Nets
    7. BULLS........ 41 - 41 They made it but Wade & co will close the doors
    8. BUCKS....... 40 - 42 just a fine tune up for the pistons

KNICKS held the worst record in the EAST 23 - 59........need help !

    WEST))))
    1. SPURS........ 63 - 19 second best record Tim will be at his best
    2. SUNS......... 54 - 28 back and hot but how far can they go ?
    3. NUGGETS.... 44 - 38 with Mello vs Brand this will be a good match up.
    4. MAVS......... 60 - 22 this team going to shock a lot of people
    5. GRIZZLIES... 49 - 33 can play with the best but Mavs & Dirk will do it.
    6. CLIPPERS..... 47 - 35 again the Brand & Mello match up will be the factor
    7. LAKERS........ 45 - 37 Kobe will need 60&70 point nights to get pass the
suns less the rest step up how will kobe respond ?
    8. KINGS........... 44 - 38 no match up for the Spurs just a tune up !

while the JAZZ 41 - 41 record wasn't enough like the eastern teams
the BLAZERS are the worst team in the NBA only 21 wins need a full
make over they have fallen off the map.

We may see a few upsets around the playoff tree.......

Brother I agree with most of this but in that Clipper/Nuggets match-up I think that the real "X-Factor" is the return of Corey Maggette. There is no way that he Nuggets can handle Elton and Corey with Vin Baker coming off the bench. And Denver is weak at the point. Andre Miller is okay but will have his hands more than full with Sam Cassell AND a healthy Shaun Livingston.

On aother note, forget about A.I. being in MVP contention especially after his and C-Web's latest antic. There antics cost them a playoff spor in the last few games..

I can't belive some of these analysts who are saying the Lakers will beat Phoenix. They are saying that Nash is "tanking out" but I don't think the lakers have anyone who can hang with Shawn Marion....because everyone seems to be pre-occupied with Nash...

good point and Nash will draw double team as well at time Marion
that will open up Amare Stoudemire the LAKERS not deep enough
no way they can hang with the SUNS , I agree here.........................

Iverson and Kobe as well Marion should be with James these guys had a
very good year outside A.I and C.Web antic.

DENVER really not deep but i look for MELLO to pick his game up a notch
Brand have help but how ready will MAGGETTE be , this series will be good
you might be right of the outcome the Clippers moving on , we'll see !

Beside Kobe will ware himself down trying to carry the LAKERS he will need
big scoring games every time they hit the floor and that will weaken his defense
Lakers can't match up with the Suns Marion , Stoudermire , Nash will be too much.

My BULLies have to face the HEAT, in a series wade and shaq will be too much
but they can steal one here and there this team get a little stronger and they can
take it deep not this year but in the near future ....... so i say GO BULLS they are
a better team to me then the Pacers

I't good to see your BULLies make it back in. Should me an interesting series. I just think that if Shaq is healthy he will be way too much in the post for Tyson Chandler or whoever else. What about Washington? ARENAS seems to have them Wizards moving.

    nba playoffs...

most of what you say is correct, except the wizards will take out king james and his cavs in seven, also the suns had better not take the lakers lightly kobe makes those around him better and the suns could get tripped up.

I think this will be one of the best playoffs in a long time. I believe the best 1st round match-up is the Nuggets and Clippers and the Cavs and the Wizards. I believe the Clippers will eliminate Denver. Between Cleveland and Washington...I don't know. There are a lot of factors in that match-up. But I would put my money on Cleveland now that they got Larry Hughes back. I don't think the Lakers will beat Phoenix. They haven't been able to hang all season with Phoenix, until Nash and Raja Bell sat out the final meeting. Then they beat them. I think the first round winners will be:

    West:
    1. San Antonio
    2. Phoenix
    3. Los Angeles Clippers
    4. Dallas Mavericks

    East:

    1. Detroit
    2. New Jersey
    3. Cleveland
    4. Miami

I believe Kobe's scoring will be off the charts...but so will his fg attempts. Lebron will be close to averageing a triple double. I predict around 33 pts. 8 rebs. 8 asst. Milwalkee will be swept by Detroit. Indiana vs. New Jersey will go 7 games. Cleveland vs. Washington will go 7. Clippers will beat Denver in 6. San Antonio should sweep Sacramento. Lakers vs Phoenix will go 6 games. Dallas and Memphis will go 7. Miami will have a hell of a time getting rid of Chicago, especially if Shaq is not 100%...which he has not been the last few years.

ARENAS will come out ready but JAMES will ware him down
out come CAVS on top to advance .

The LAKERS won't be able to stay pace with the SUNS they will
end it in 6 to advance.

Kente417mojo......I agree but if the HEAT make too many mistakes and
shaq show signs he not health the BULLS could steal the stage .

I always ask my self what happen to the teams who held it down for so long
    BLAZERS , KNICKS , JAZZ , LAKERS , T-WOLVES , ROCKETS , 76ERS , BOSTON

will they rise anytime soon , or will we see for years the great teams likes
SPURS , PISTONS , SUNS , on the rise CAVS , HEAT , MAVS , GRIZZLIES

I agree $$RICH$$. The Bulls are less talented than Miami, but they play twice as hard and have twice the heart. I've said Miami is a disaster because they tried to stack the roster. I think the Bulls could tke them if Miami makes mistake. My only problem with the Bulls is that they don't have a big scoring option. There's not one guy on that team that can take over the game for them at any given time. Don't get me wrong, Ben Gordan can be a monster, but he's not always on target. If the Bulls play great defense and can find a way to score, Miami might be sent home a little early.

As far as those teams you mentioned that fell off, I would blame management. Blazers management seem to pick up players with baggage. The Knicks are a disaster with Isaiah Thomas signing stupid deals for stupid players. The Jazz had injuries or else they would have been in the playoffs this year. T-Wolves screwed themselves ever since signing Joe Smith and have been paying for it ever since. The Rockets were rocked by injuries, or they would have been a top team in the west. Sixers need to trade everyone besides Iverson and get some people who can score and play defense, not one or the other. Boston.....I have no idea what happened to them.

Look at the teams you mentioned on the rise, one of which I must add, includes the CLIPPERS.

For one, most of the teams on the rise have TRUE point guards and young lottery draft picks who are coming into their own..Also, your top 3...Spurs, Pistons, Suns play great team defense and get a lot of points in transition. I think you overlooked the NETS who actually are hotter than Miami at this point. Now, an interesting fact is look at how many teams that you mentioned have former LAKER coaches, assistant coaches or General managers...Del Harris...Pat Riley....Jerry West....and a few others throughout the league with teams up and coming...Michael Cooper...Bernie Bickerstaff...Byron Scott..as far as the Rockets are concerned...T-Mac and Yao got hurt and missed too mny games but they still would have had a hard time getting through their division because they have a weak bench...the others have a few franchise players and not much else...
