    Nature’s fury
    Descended upon me
    Hurricanes and
    Tornadoes
    Raining down on me
    Trying to clown on me
As far as I can see
    Continued catastrophe

    Even things you cannot see
    Pollution
    Causing
    Acid
    Rain(ing)
    Down on me
    Eating the core of me

    Drip drop
    Drip drop
    Multiplied by
    Non-stop
    Bombardment of coastlines

    Taking my time
    I maneuver between
    The seams of
    One drop
    Then two
    Three
    Before 4, five, & 6
    Falls down on me

    There were too many
    I have to retreat

    The house is shaking
    As though a quaking
    Is going on

    Another lightning bolt
    And I am soaked
    In darkness

    {the electricity shorted}

so I sort through the hall closet
    for candles…I started

    {boom ba…ba…boom}

    Lightning strike
    Then, her brother speaks up
    As an army of
    Raindrops
    Mete out
    Nature’s Fury.

Hurricane Isadore is on her way.
