Nation of Islam's Louis Farrakhan: 'We need to put the American flag down'

While speaking at the Metropolitan AME Church in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan attacked the American flag, radio station WMAL reported. The outspoken Farrakhan fulfilled a prediction made by Rush Limbaugh earlier this week ...
Is he still around? Poor Louis. Still stuck in the 60s. Nothing sadder than man who doesn't realize his 15 minutes are up.

Do not underestimate Farrakhan's wordsmith skills used in circumventing the trap set by none other than Rush Limbaugh and others. I'm sure Farrakhan saw this coming far in advance, as well as, the task it would take to cause America to capitulate and re-design the flag.

Farrakhan said this, "We need to put the American flag down," not pull it down. And then he goes on to explain how with this, "Well now," he said, lowering his voice, "we're gonna pull the flag down." It's "as easy as pulling your pants down."

At this point, and contrary to Limbaugh's prediction, Farrakhan is safe from fingers pointed in his direction that he's for taking down the American flag. Farrakhan goes on to say this, "We want justice under that flag," he added. “What the hell is the use of us paying allegiance to a flag under which we get no justice?” he asked.

No one, not even you, KMeister can successfully rebut Farrakhan's argument that Black folk have suffered tremendously under the America flag, its undisputed. We continue to seek justice, hence the current Black Lives Matter movement suggests justice is stuck, late on arrival, and the fight for it continues.

The man just plain taks too much. That's not all he said. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution:
He added that when the police took suspected shooter Dylann Roof to Burger King, they were saying, “You did a good job. Kill all them [expletive].”

It's also undisputed that black people have prospered tremendously under the American flag. We live in a country with one of the highest standards of living in the world. The collective black American incomes and GDP surpasses that of over 3/4 of all the countries of the world. I'm sure we would agree our plight here in America is not what it should be. That acknowledged, I suggest not that we put the flag down. Rather, we should raise it up and demand that our country live up to its ideals. That is only something that can be achieved when we fully participate in its institutions, not opt out. You don't get to make the rules of the game if you don't play.
